Rethink That Thought

I designed this flagship project to deliver a calm, emotionally aware user experience that helps learners recognize and reframe distorted thoughts.

Audience: Organizations and employees looking for engaging, emotionally grounded training on mental health and workplace well-being

Responsibilities: Instructional design, storyboarding, scripting, visual and graphic design

Tools Used: Adobe Photoshop, Articulate Storyline 360, Microsoft PowerPoint

Vision & Execution

This project was designed to deliver a focused, immersive learning experience for leaders and employees in organizations. I combined simple UX, interactive elements, variables and a soft visual design to create a reflective, self-paced journey. To support accessibility and engagement, I used contrast-checked visuals, a layered background audio loop and mindful interactions optimized for mobile. To enhance user experience, each button consists of gradient and shadow effects to maintain visibility across slides, with a hover and visited state that subtly shifts for intuitive interaction.

Visual Mockups

I created wireframes in Microsoft PowerPoint and imported them into Articulate Storyline 360 with a mobile-first design. Using calming videos and imagery from Freepik.com, I supported the course’s emotional tone. I chose Montserrat and Open Sans for clean readability and designed contrast-appropriate buttons with a light mint gradient and subtle shadow for visual consistency.

Support Tools

To support learners in shifting out of distorted thinking patters, I included links to practical tools like the Calm app, Talkspace.com, a link to the popular MoodKit mental health apps that reinforce mindfulness and cognitive restructuring. I also designed a downloadable mental health pocket guide in Microsoft PowerPoint to serve as a quick-reference takeaway.

The pocket guide includes a brief overview of each cognitive distortion, simple reframing prompts, and a few grounding techniques learners can practice on-the-go. It’s intentionally short, accessible and designed to complement the course without overwhelming the user.
