Grounding Practice

EXPERIENCE THE FULL PROJECT

I designed this concept micro-lesson to deliver a quick, five-minute grounding exercise that helps busy professionals reduce stress and refocus. It was intentionally designed to feel calming, accessible and easy to use in real-time moments of overwhelm.

Audience: Professionals under stress

Responsibilities: Image search, graphic design, script writing, storyboarding, video editing

Tools Used: Articulate Rise 360 and Storyline, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Camtasia, VYOND

Vision & Execution

This concept micro-lesson was built in Articulate Rise 360 to guide busy professionals through a simple, five-minute grounding practice. The experience opens with a quick feelings check to encourage reflection, followed by a custom VYOND animation imbedded into an interactive Articulate Storyline block, that introduces grounding and demonstrates each of the five senses in action. A two-minute 4-7-8 breathing exercise video, that I produced in Camtasia, deepens the practice before learners begin the 5 senses in 5 minutes grounding practice. Soft blues and contrast checked visuals keep the design calming, accessible and easy to navigate.

Visual Mockups

I curated a mix of abstract and serene images from Freepik.com and Unsplash.com, applying custom blue overlays to create a calm, cohesive look. The color palette was refined to support the grounding theme and maintain visual consistency. Characters seen throughout the course are vectors, customized in Adobe Illustrator, exploring varied shades of blues. Buttons feature softly rounded edges and three color variations for clarity and contrast across different backgrounds. Each topic header pairs with an abstract or themed image to visually represent the sense being highlighted. These design choices create a soothing, sensory-focused experience that remains visually engaging and easy to navigate on any screen.

Media & Support Tools

To bring the content to life, I produced a custom Vyond video introducing the concept of grounding and modeling the five senses in action.
I also created a breathing exercise video in Camtasia, combining ocean footage with an animated gradient circle that expands, pauses and contracts to visually guide the learner’s 4-7-8 breath pattern. These motion elements add a calming, immersive feel and help learners follow along with ease.
